I hear you Lord

Friday, December 23rd, 2005

Music has always been very powerful to me. In my life, it is something that makes me feel, and for that, I’m grateful, because sometimes I walk around all shades of gray. God has always used music to speak directly to me, and for that also, I’m grateful.

The elusive Thomas Newman

Tuesday, November 1st, 2005

Ask me what I’d be if I could ask God for the perfect job. Don’t be shy… Ask me. A composer. Yeah, it’s true. Composers have a talent I can’t understand. They are able to infuse their essence into sheets of paper. They translate life into the music that makes us sit back and daydream.

One of my favorite composers is Thomans Newman. I love his signature. He puts something into his compositions that is distinguished. His music brings color into my imagination. So it is dissapointing to me that more than often his pieces, mostly for pictures, are not released. There are a few gems out there, though.

One of my favorite movies is The Shawshank Redemption. Its story is vivid. Its cinematography is moving frames of art. Of course, Thomas Newman helps. He composed the score for the film. I often find myself putting the album score on repeat. See the movie, or better yet, listen to the tracks… you’ll hear why.
