A golden someday

Sunday, February 12th, 2006

Life is a conundrum, at least, that’s how it feels. Somedays, it’s a long summer stretch in the shade, but sometimes, it’s a storm with waves that topple me. You never can tell when a storm is coming or going. Life is so hard sometimes…

Sheesh…

This is crazy. Who would have thought that spam on a blog would be a problem? I certainly didn’t when I started. I am now deleting about 40 spam comment posts a day. “Great site! I really like your stuff! Go to www.nakedgirls.com or see blahblahblah.com for some crap!”

Thank you wordpress community for creating such an easy-to-use, accurate spam filter.

At the end of a moment

Monday, February 6th, 2006

All good things must eventually come to an end, I suppose, and so ends the (short) saga that is our trip to Vegas. But before our final adieu, one more exerpt from a trip into felicity.

I’ve been to Amsterdam, Netherlands. When I tell people this, I usually receive the typical chuckle and then some comment about either drugs or hookers. True, there are both in Amsterdam, but that’s not why its sunny days have a home in my heart.

For me, it was the utter radiance of the city architecture that left me gentle and ruminative. I remember long golden light falling and peaking from 200 foot roof tops. I remember birds sitting calmly, halfway high to a heaven of blues.

In the same way, Las Vegas has charmed me. It has an aloof allure than can subtly rob one of any contempt. It is, like Amsterdam, both marvelous and frivolous; admirable and deceitful.

I can’t wait to go back…

Am I seeing double?

Thursday, February 2nd, 2006

I’ve always had a problem with duality and duplicity. Both make me utterly sick to my stomach. I’m me, and that’s it. There is no double speak or deception. I’m not perfect, but I expect the same from my friends and in my relationships.
